Hot Shot vs. Fated to Love You

When a new idol drama comes out, the first thing everyone looks at is its rating. Not just the rating of the first episode in relation to all the airing dramas’ corresponding

episode of the same time slot, but also the rating of the competitive dramas’ first episode. (As if rating is the holy grail, the goblet of fire, or the leaden heart of the Happy Prince.)

In this elitist rating competition, Fated to Love You continues to lead the rating war and break new records with its average of 10.91% and max rating of 13.64%. (Folks, the three leads promised to “profit” the viewers once the rating exceeds 15%. We have three more weeks left. ;))

Hot Shot seconded the chart with an average of 2.79% and 4% max rate during the chase scene between the three main male leads (technically, two). Although a significant rating difference between the two dramas, Hot Shot surpassed Fated to Love You’s first episode rating. (Sounds awfully like a pat on the back, however optimistic.)

Fated to Love You’s continued victory is said to derive largely from audiences’ conditioned habit of following Ji Cun Xi and Chen Xin Yi’s relationship outlook. However, many have grew impatient with the ssssslow progression of the plot line. (Zzzz…)

Fated to Love You is scheduled to be followed by SETTV’s new drama Invincible Shan Bao Mei staring Nicholas Teo on Aug 24. The first episode of which will involve Chen Xin Yi and Ji Cun Xi as part of the screen writer’s effort to continue FTLY’s popularity and provide a sequalish feeling to the new drama. (Which also means I may recap at least the first episode of Invincible Shan Bao Mei.)

I actually forgot about it last sunday and just remembered late at night. by then its too late, because it was way past my bedtime as I was working the next day. So I just waited patiently for your recaps.

  2. i agree, I think the Fated To Love You plotline is really slow. Im starting to get bored and I’ve given up waiting for the episodes to all completely come out. I would much rather read your recaps to see if theres anything interesting before actually watching the episode lol

  3. Gah. I read your recap for Hot Shot, and it sounds okay. Haven’t really given it a thought, because of FTLY.

Your recaps are getting better and better! 😀

  4. thanks Lizzie. I actually think all my recap qualities are going down except for FTLY. guess viewer support just have the magic to improve recap qualities too.
